She was born on June 14, 1938, in Callaway, Nebraska, to Ernest and Rose (Sladky) Dodge. Elaine received her education from Callaway Public Schools, graduating from Callaway High School as Salutatorian with the Class of 1956.
Following her education, Elaine resided in Callaway and spent nearly the next fifty years working at the bank in Callaway, holding several positions during this time.
Elaine was an avid reader and learner. She loved looking at photographs, especially of her family and from the trips they made throughout the years. Faith and family were very important to Elaine, especially family events. She attended nearly all the weddings, anniversaries, and graduations of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Elaine was very humble, always giving and caring for others. Elaine has left a tremendous legacy of love, and faith to her family.
She was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Callaway.
Elaine leaves to celebrate her life; her siblings, Wilma Thomas of Clay Center, Kansas, Evelyn Miller of Gothenburg and Terry (Vickey) Dodge of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Sheila Dodge of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Linda Dodge of Callaway, and Karen Dodge of North Platte; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well many other relatives whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ernest "Ernie", Dean, Wayne, Larry and Garry; sisters-in-law, LaVerne and Gerry Dodge. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Earl Pierce, with whom she was able to experience many new adventures over the years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Callaway United Methodist Church with Pastor Shanon Williams, officiating.
Graveside Services and Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway.
