Born June 4, 1953, in Quincy, Diane was a daughter of Russell and Berniece Hilfrink Walz. She married Terry Riley on Jan. 16, 1975 in Quincy. He survives.
Diane's passion in life was children, especially those under 5 years old. She operated a home day care for 40 years caring for children, until her health forced her to retire in March.
In addition to her husband, Terry, survivors include her her mother, Berniece Wagner of Quincy; two sons, Eric Riley of Quincy and Kevin Riley (Rachel) of Quincy; a daughter, Brenda Zanger (Ernest) of Quincy; a grandson, Emmerson Riley; three sisters, Patty Livingston of Canton, Mo., Cindy Edwards (Sam) of Hendersonville, N.C., and Mary Yates (Scott) of Loxley, Ala.; two brothers; Greg Walz of St. Louis, and Mark Walz (Linda) of Olathe, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Russell Walz.
SERVICES: Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, in Greenmount Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Disseler conducting.
VISITATION: There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend the graveside service.
MEMORIALS: To Terry Riley to help with expenses.
