It is with great sadness that the family of William Burns Barr of Front Royal, Virginia announce his passing Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lee Barr of 55 years; brothers, Curtis Barr and Stanley "Frankie" Barr; and sister, Margaret "Margie" Morrison.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, John W. Barr, Barbara Barr Greene, Bonnie L. Judy, Patricia F. Barr, and Donna M. Booth; and his 28 grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Annie "Susie" Laing.

MSgt. Barr was a 20 year veteran of the United States Airforce. As a Vietnam veteran he received the Bronze Star medal for meritorious service during the Vietnam Air Offensive Campaign, Phase II.

Bill enjoyed researching his family genealogy, home gardening, repairing anything mechanical and reading. He was very supportive of his family in their career goals and an advocate of higher education.

A graveside ceremony will be held Friday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Panorama Memorial Gardens in Waterlick, VA for friends and family.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA.
