William Jessick, 83, of Manistique, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 25, 2018 at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique.

He was born July 14, 1934 in Manistique, the son of Joseph and Esther (Sjoberg) Jessick. He attended Manistique area schools and was a lifetime resident of the area. Following high school he worked on the Great Lakes Steamships.

On January 19, 1957 Bill married the former Joan M. Benish in Manistique and they made their home and raised their family in Manistique. Joan unexpectedly preceded him in death on May 30, 2002.

Bill was employed for many years at the Manistique Tool and Die Company and Manistique Manufacturing. He was also self-employed as a landscaper in the Manistique area for many homes and businesses.

Bill served on the board at the Manistique Federal Credit Union for over 30 years and also served as the treasurer for the St. Vincent de Paul Store.

His favorite thing in life was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Catherine (James) Creighton, Mary Johnson, Nancy (James) Means, and Carla (Kevin) Brower; grandchildren, Curtis (Sara) Creighton, David (Nicole) Kaiser, Erin (Christopher) Caszatt, Rachel (Jason) VandenBrink, Steven (Alycia) Kaiser, Nicole (Dustin) Lintemuth, and Chelsa (Matt) LaFave; great grandchildren, Connor and Michael Creighton, Brady and MaKenzie Kaiser, Tavian and Rhaya Caszatt, and Audrina Kaiser; sisters, Mickey Vandenheede, JoAnn (Don) Kokesh, Marsha (Charles) Lloyd, and Molly (Doug) Ryan; brother-in-law, Myron Johnston; sister-in-law, Shirley Benish; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica Creighton; great granddaughter, Kennedy Leigh Kaiser; sister, Laura Johnston; brothers and sister-in-laws, Don (Lou) Jessick and Jack (Sandi) Jessick; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Benish.

A family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Francis de Sales School or to the Manistique Senior Center.
