ONSTED - Richard LaVon Davis Jr., age 55, of Onsted passed away July 18.

Richard was born Feb. 18, 1962, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Richard LaVon and Gwendolyn (Swank) Davis Sr. Richard was a 1980 graduate of Onsted High School and a 1988 graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering. He was presently employed at Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, as the senior paint engineer, supervisor new model development and launch.

Richard is survived his children, ; two grandchildren; five nieces; five nephews; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and his beloved cat, Posey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Davis; and his cat, Tigger.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24. 2017, at the funeral home. Condo­lences to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
