She was born Mildred Katherine Lentsch on November 29, 1917 near Winfred, SD, the daughter of John and Mary (Schoeberl) Lentsch. Millie attended school at Winfred graduating in 1935. She then attended and graduated from Eastern State Normal School in Madison.

After meeting Wesley Andrew Olson at a barn dance, they were united in marriage on March 26, 1938 at Huron. The couple were married 71 years before his death in 2009.

The couple lived and farmed near Oldham until moving to Clark. Millie was in her early 90's when they moved. She resided in the Fay Wookey Memorial Assisted Living Center in Clark until becoming a resident of the Golden Living Center in March of this year.

She was a member of the Oldham Lutheran Church, the Sandpiper Camping Club and also many other boards and organizations.

In her free moments she enjoyed gardening, was known for her green thumb, was an avid reader, loved chocolate, bowling, playing cards, and camping. Second to none though was her love of spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death was her husband Wesley, a grandson, Lee Schlagel, and siblings, Katherine Edwards, Caroline Frey, Dorothy Schultz, Robert, Urban, Kenny, Richard, and Henry Lentsch.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce (Dean) Nodine of John Day, OR, Diane Olson of Watertown and Deb (Terry) Schlagel of Clark; 4 grandchildren, Jeff, Jody, Janean, and Cassi and 5 great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mariah, Sierra, Hayley, and Jordan.
