She was born October 12, 1955 in Marion to the late Lee Roy and Ina Goodpasture Catron.
Debbie worked as a dispatcher for Smyth County for several years; also, in registration at Smyth County Community Hospital and during the summers at Williams Garden Center. However, her favorite job was being a stay at home nana.
She was a very active member of Grosses Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years, was instrumental in starting the Children's Church, was co-director of the Youth Group, head of the Planning Committee, and church secretary with duties of maintaining the church bulletin and taking care of the crafts for Bible School.
Debbie loved gardening and working with her flowers; enjoyed crafts, traveling on Sunshine Tours with her sisters, Bobbie and Linda, and planning family vacations was a task she enjoyed taking on. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, but there was nothing she loved more than her grandchildren. Debbie will be missed.
