Betty Faye Heard of Sweetwater passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Abilene.
She was born March 16, 1930, in Rodessa, La. to the late Willie O. and Avis "Larey" Brown. She married Jack Lamar Heard Feb. 10, 1946, in Bossier City, La. They lived in North Louisiana and East Texas several years. She was an LVN at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, La.
They moved to Sweetwater in 1987 to be near their daughter and her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Sonny Brown and Russell Brown; and sister, Maurice Carson.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack; daughter, Debbra Dorsey and husband Tom; son Don Michael Heard and wife Jeanie of Benbrook; granddaughters Michelle Dorsey Shrontz and husband Darrin of Sweetwater, Stephanie Smith and husband Jason of Fort Worth and Heather Lee and husband Josh of Little Rock, Ark.; great-granddaughter Jac Lamari Shrontz; and great-grandson Asa Carl Shrontz, both of Sweetwater.
Her body was cremated. Services will be held in Haynesville, La. at a later date.
