Ida leaves behind her daughter, Maria Bell and husband, James; her son, Ronald Moore and his wife, Elizabeth Cating; and the memory of her eldest son, John A. Moore, who predeceased her. Ida has two natural grandchildren, Janelle Wagner and Michael Moore; and one grandchild through marriage, Eileen Guevara. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Maddie Mae Moore and Dylan Egan; and many loving friends, especially Carolyn Durham, a close and special friend of many years.
Ida was born to Italian immigrant parents in New York City, on May 24, 1920. Her family moved to Washington, D.C., where her father operated a barbershop. The family was comprised of musicians, artists and builders, all proud Americans. Ida moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1946 accompanying her husband, John, who was an engraver for Keller & George. Ida worked for many years for the local and federal governments. Ida will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, caring aunt and faithful friend. Her caring cooperative spirit created nurturing relationships, making her a wonderful companion and helpmate. Her generous heart expressed loving kindness and compassion without any expectation of return. All who knew and loved her will miss her greatly.
Ida's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at Monticello Memory Gardens, 670 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, Va. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hillandwood.com.
