Fred L. Beebe was a professional baseball player.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Beebe played baseball for the Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois and the University of Illinois.

In 1903, the Hyde Park team went undefeated against high school opponents, and featured Eckersall and Ransom (perhaps the only black team captain of a mostly white team in the country).

Besides Fred Beebe, the Cook County League produced a number of major league players in its early years.

Fred Beebe pitched 7 years in the major leagues. He played Major League Baseball from 1906 to 1916. In his rookie year, Beebe led the major league's with 171 strikeouts.

He played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians. His career record was 62-83.
