Georgia Ethel League-Brewer, 97, of Eccles, WV passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2018 at Bowers Hospice house.

Born July 8, 1920, at Lester WV, she was the daughter of the late George Edward League (1863-1944) and Effie Jane Wiseman-League (1875-1959) and was one of six children. Along with her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton Orville League (Deceased), Kermit Rush League (1907-1955), and Lloyd Leslie League (Deceased); two sisters, Clara Frances Massie (Deceased) and Vada Electra Long Covey(Deceased); three half brothers, Edward League (Deceased), Alfred League (Deceased) and Paul Wiseman (Deceased); and one half-sister Bessie League-Lewis (Deceased).

Georgia married Charles Albert Brewer (1917-2001) on April 25, 1939 in Lester, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1939, Page 227, Application Date: April 4, 1939). Together they built a home and had eight children. As a housewife, she was the blessed keeper of their home and her spirit of love, mercy and grace gave the home its forever memorable atmosphere. In November 2001, Georgia said goodbye to her loving husband of 62 years. Georgia would later show amazing strength and faith by continuing on with life gracefully after burying three of her children, Ronald "Keith" Brewer (1941-2013), Shelia Gay Brewer-Lusk (Died in 2015), and Albert Ray Brewer (Died in 2016).

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles Leslie Brewer of Marietta, GA; Glenda Brewer-Kidwell & husband Tom Kidwell of Hastings, OK; Kenneth Joe Brewer & wife Shelby Brewer of Huber Heights, OH; Janice Brewer-Keaton & husband Roger Keaton of Daniels, WV; and Gary Brewer of Sandy Level, VA; daughters-in-law, Cynthia Mae Davidson-Brewer (B. 1943) of Grafton, OH and Carolyn Brewer of Crab Orchard, WV; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren all of whom love her dearly.

Although Georgia wasn’t able to physically attend Church in her later years, she faithfully watched Inspiration Time and sent in regular donations. She loved to watch Pastor Joel Osteen and Pastor John Hagee and listen to the Gaithers. Georgia’s yard and flower beds were a beautiful and tranquil piece of Heaven on earth. She loved to sit on her porch and enjoy her beautiful flowers and watch the birds. She loved working jigsaw puzzles and often gifted them to family and friends. Georgia enjoyed reminiscing and talking about the good old days. Living to be 97, allowed her to share some incredible memories. Her family and friends loved to listen to her old stories. Georgia and her family were so blessed and grateful for her caregivers: Carolyn Adkins, Iris Williams, and Phyllis “Annie” Lambert. Georgia loved them so much. Also, her dear neighbors, Jack and Trula Rogusky, helped her so much over the years. She loved them dearly.

Funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dean Adams officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
