Ilou LOGAN Obituary
LOGAN Ilou Frances Egalite, resident of the Lafayette, died Sun, May 16, 2010. Born in Logan County, she was the daughter of Jesse Edward and Hattie Sue Sapp and the widow of Veteran William R. Logan. Her first husband, George F. Egatite, died in WWII. Mrs. Logan was a buyer and Bridal Consultant for Purcell's until the time of their closing, then worked for Dawahare's in Gardenside for 21 years. She continued working part-time until she was 86 years of age because she enjoyed her work. She was a Charter member of the Hunter Presbyterian Church, devoting her spare time to Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Business and Professional Women's club. She was a graduate of Henry Clay High and Fugazzi Business College. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, James Paul and Edward Sapp who died as a baby. She is survived by a son, George Edward Egalite (Sue), of Williston, FL, a daughter, Mary Sue Thompson (Johnny) of Versailles, A step son, Lee Logan, (Cleo) of Lexington, a nephew, James Sapp, a niece, Connie Epperson, both of Portland, OR. Mrs. Logan was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She made many and lasting friends at Hunter Church, likewise with her co-workers in retail, and other residents of the Lafayette where she resided for fourteen happy years. She hooked rugs of marketable quality and created a variety of handmade dolls which she sold at Kentucky craft stores. She loved music and gardening. Funeral services will be held at Milward's on Southland Drive, Thu the 20th of May at 10am. Visitation will be held Wed the 19th from 6-8:30pm. Pall Bearers will be six of her eight great-grandsons, John Gramig of California, David Gramig of Nicholasville, Mike Shryock of Richmond, Jeff Elam, Brandon Hilen and Justin Thurman, all of Lawrenceburg. Honorary pall bearers will be grandsons, Johnathan McConmick, and Ryan Sinko, both of Florida, and Lee Logan, her step son. www.milwardfuneral.com
