SKOGSTAD, Henry, 88, of Ladysmith, formerly of Radisson, died Monday at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial at a later date in Osseo Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Henry Milford Skogstad, 88, of W10075 101 Trail, Ladysmith, formerly of Radisson, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Henry, son of Henry and Mary (Brian) Skogstad Sr., was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Eleva. He was united in marriage to Augusta native, Lucille Ayers, on Oct. 16, 1940, in Decorah, Iowa. Henry had worked farming, delivering ice, hauling canned milked for the Augusta Creamery, and working road and house construction before taking a job with American Motors in Kenosha, from where he retired after working 18 years. In addition to his full-time job, he also enjoyed bartending in various places.

The couple lived and raised their family in the Wisconsin-Illinois border area, moving to Radisson in 1979 after retiring. They moved to Ladysmith in November of 2006. Henry enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and playing almost any kind of card game.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Ladysmith; four sons, Milford (Beverly) Skogstad of Boomer, N.C., Henry Skogstad Jr. of Chicago, Harold (Linda) Skogstad of Exeland and Tom (Bonita) Skogstad of Ladysmith; four daughters, Betty Pickerign of Menomonie, Jane Tomczak of Ocala, Fla., Bonnie (Ray) Isaacs of Rice Lake and Lorna Skogstad of Ladysmith; stepbrother, Morris Ausen of Glenwood City; Lucille's siblings, Muriel Anderson and Hazel Crow, both of Osseo, Nancy Molstad of Stoddard, Pat (Hubert) Fiedler of Hurt, Va., Norman Ayers of Eau Claire and Milton (Jean) Ayers of Wisconsin Dells; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings; and three grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2007, at 5 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Ted Simpson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Osseo Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time services on Friday at the funeral home.
