David Burciaga Jr. passed away at home on May 6, 2018. Born in Bakersfield on November 14, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents Frances and David P. Burciaga and his nephew Robert Martinez. He is survived by his daughter Nikki Burciaga and grandson River and his son David Bryan Burciaga (Wyoming) and grandson Brodie (Kansas), his sister Lydia Burciaga Lostaunau (Charlie) and Ruben Burciaga (Petra) and numerous nephews and nieces. He leaves his late Dad's wife, Nancy Trudeau Burciaga, whom he held in respect and friendship.
He was a child from La Loma, who attended Jefferson School, a graduate from East Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield College. David served in the Army during the 60's and was stationed in Germany. David was a marathon runner who celebrated his birthday in Las Vegas every year, he was a judge in Amsterdam (twice) and fulfilled a life long dream on an African Photographic safari. He loved music, ballroom dancing and the Raiders. Our brother tried to do all he could while on this earth. David loved his family in his own unique and special way.
A military funeral will be held on June 29th at 10:00 am at the Bakersfield National Veterans Cemetery, 30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA.
