Captain Thomas Collins Garrett, 76, a veteran of 50 years of service in Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay shipping, died today at the home of his brother, Eugene L. Garrett, at Center Cross.
In addition to his brother, he is survived by two sons, William and Harry Garrett of Baltimore; and a sister, Mrs. Annie Brizendine of Howerton.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lebanon Methodist Church at Upright, Essex County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Son of Montgomery Pike Garrett and Emma Jane Jeffries Garrett.
Married Florence (Flossie) Winder on October 7, 1891, Essex Co, VA.
