Mollie Mae (Dosier) Famuliner, 86, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018 at Golden Years Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonville, MO. Mollie was born on July 15, 1931, the daughter of Louis and Ellen (Gardner) Dosier. After her father’s death, when she was nine years old, she went to live with her Aunt Clara May and Uncle Oliver Lovewell. She graduated from High School in 1949 from Garden City, Missouri. On September 2, 1950 she was united in marriage to Blaine Famuliner in Harrison, AR. Together they shared over 50 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son, Arthur (Artie) and his wife Tracye, Harrisonville, MO and her daughter, Diane and her husband Barry of Garden City, MO; her grandchildren Brooke and Ryan Lutz, Corby and Jim Suptic, Tyler and Melissa Whitworth, Tucker and Madison Whitworth, and John and Sarah Purtle; her brothers Art and Barb Lovewell, Ed and Debbie Lovewell and sisters-in-law, Jackie Lovewell, Jeanne Lovewell and Helen Famuliner and half-brother Charles Ward; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Blaine Lutz, Amelia and Talulah Suptic, Chancey and Lane Whitworth and Camryn, Cole and Avery Purtle; and many other relatives and friends that she cherished dearly.
Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine, her grandson, Blaine, her parents, sister, Clara Lois McCoy, brothers, Howard Dosier, Dave Lovewell, Tom Lovewell, half-brothers, Walter, Curtis, and William Ward.
Mollie worked at various jobs over the years, but her favorite job was being a homemaker, mother, grandma and granny. She had a spirit of hospitality in which she delighted in having company over for a meal. Her kitchen was the gathering place and she was well known for her specialties of homemade rolls, cinnamon rolls, and fried chicken. She worked on the farm alongside Blaine and enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She was a seamstress, baked and decorated cakes and loved making silk arrangements, a hobby she enjoyed later in life.
She was a life time member of the Garden City United Methodist Church. Mollie had a kind and generous heart that couldbe seen by her devotion to her family, church and community. She loved people for who they were, showing compassion, forgiveness and generosity, and always finding the best in others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Garden City, Missouri or the Garden City Friendship Meals.
