MIDDLEBURY, VT. - Madeline Blanche (Spaulding) Hoffnagle O'Brien Burns, age 94, formerly of Brandon, Vt., passed away early Saturday morning, June 23rd 2018 at EastView Terrace in Middlebury, Vt.
She was born on December 19th 1923 in Springfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Ralph G. and Louise Josephine (Beedle) Spaulding.
She married her 1st Husband Earle Winston Hoffnagle on April 15th 1946 in New Haven, Vermont. He predeceased her on October 11th 1957.
She married her 2nd Husband Francis O'Brien on January 27th 1961 in Weybridge, Vermont. He predeceased her on November 16th 1981.
She married her 3rd husband Mark Wilton Burns on September 25th 2003 in Brandon, Vermont.
Madeline was a Clerical Worker in Chittenden Bank for many years and also Co-Operative Insurance.
She was a former member of the New Haven Congregational Church in New Haven, Vt. and former member of the Oder of Eastern Star in Middlebury, Vt. and Bristol, Vt.
Madeline enjoyed working the Hoffnagle Farm and also traveling to Greece, Europe, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Fiji, New Zealand, and Hawaii.
Madeline was predeceased by her husbands, two daughters; Susan Susan Margaret (Hoffnagle) Shea on September 23rd 2007 and Gail Louise (Hoffnagle) Perry on April 3rd 1976, one brother; Richard George Spaulding on July 6th 2003, one son-in–law; Roger Kenneth Shea on November 28th 2014, and her parents; her father Ralph Spaulding in December of 1967 and her mother Louise Spaulding on February 15th 1981.
