On Friday evening, March 5, 2010 Alice who was a resident at Viewcrest Health Center for eleven years, went peacefully to meet her Lord.

She was born on June 14, 1910 in Superior, WI to Jahlmar and Anna (Anderson) Evenson.

She was a lifelong resident of Piedmont Heights and a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

She loved walking, cooking, playing bingo, watching boats enter the harbor, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her husband of many years and her family. She will be missed.

Alice is survived by sons, Gerald (Kathryn), Duluth, MN and Terry Rindal, Woodbridge, VA; a daughter, Pegra (Philip) Cobb, Duluth, MN; two sisters, Audrey (Howard) Baker and Lorraine (Frank) Alcott; grandchildren, Kerry (Judy) Rindal, Gregory (Julie) Rindal, Sally (Keith) Rish, Madge (Mark) Erickson, Terry Rindal Jr., Christopher (Yvonne) Rindal, Shelly Thompson (fiancé Gary Anderson), Greg(Amy) Cobb and Amy (Ed) Radig; 19+ great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver, daughter, Madge Rindal of Mpls, daughter-in-law, Helen Rindal of VA, brother Floyd Evenson and sister Dorothy Johnson.

A service for Alice will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Alice’s name to Christ Lutheran Church in Piedmont Heights.

Alice’s family would like to give a special thank you to the entire nursing staff at Viewcrest Health Center, St Mary’s Hospice, and the staff at the Downs-LeSage funeral home for their care and compassion toward Alice and her family.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
