Funeral services were held on Tuesday for Benda Gresham Morton of Guntersville. She died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center North. She was 65.
She was born Jan. 16, 1951, to George Tunney Gresham and Willo Dean Gresham Morton of Arab.
Mrs. Morton was married to Danny Ray Morton for 22 years until they divorced. They didn’t have any children of their own but helped with the children of family and friends.
She will be remembered for her kind and giving heart, her family said.
Mrs. Morton worked as office manager at McCord’s Mobile Home Park for many years. At the time of her death, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her mother, Willo Dean Morton; 3 sisters, Judy Hall (Marty), Jo Jones (Steven) and Teresa Simmons (Dennis); and 2 brothers, Sky Gresham and Stoney Gresham.
Mrs. Morton was preceded in death by her father, George Tunney Gresham, and a brother, Barry Gresham.
Pastor Carey Sims and Pastor Gary Swords officiated at the funeral, which was held at Carr Funeral Home. Jackie Hunt provided the music and singing.
Mrs. Morton was buried in the New Brashiers Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin Stewart, Joshua Gresham, Devin Hayes, Logan Walker, Evan Shaver, Jackie Stidger, Buddy Belvin and Jack Stidger.
