Michael graduated from Centerville High and NE Missouri State College. He was an accountant, taught at DMACC and retired from Skiff Medical Center in 2003.
Michael enjoyed bicycling, reading, volunteering at Skiff and wintering in Orange Beach, Alabama, and had a dry sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Maurice Guinn. Those left to honor Michael’s memory are his wife Linda, ex-wife Judith, daughters Michele and Suzanne, a step-son James Ross(Tricia), Coralville, a step-daughter Sherry Ross, Pella, 5 step grandchildren and 2 nephews.
A private memorial will take place at a later date. The family welcomes stories about Michael and condolences to be posted at the Pence-Reese website, PenceFH.com. Memorials can be made to Skiff Hospital Auxiliary, Planned Parenthood, or Newton Public Library on his behalf through Pence-Reese funeral home via mail or the website.
