ARCHER: Clarence Myrl Weekes, 74, of Archer, died July 5, 2006, at his home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Sunnydell, Idaho, to Arthur Clarence Weekes and Pearl Cleo Bee Weekes. He grew up and attended schools in the Archer-Sunnydell and Rexburg area.

On Nov. 1, 1950, he married Marjean Mecham in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Great Lakes and, with his wife, missions in Tonga and Kenya. Myrl enjoyed the outdoors, working with his cattle and horses, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Marjean; children, Judi Hall, Peggy (Gary) Hamilton, Karen (Van) Warner, Cheryl (Tim) Davis, Colleen (Rowdy) Simpson, Sherman (Nilene) Weekes and Robert Weekes; two sisters, Zella (Rick) McGurk and LaVon (Doug) Poulsen; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother, a daughter and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Archer/Sunnydell LDS Church. The family will visit with friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday before services, both at the church.

Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral home of Rexburg.
