Alver Lee was joined in Holy Matrimony with Jennie Mae Jennings on April 7, 1945 in Newman, Georgia. They moved to Detroit in 1947. To this union four children were born. They divorced in 1965.
He leaves to mourn, his four children: Carol Chaney, Jerome Chaney, Phyllis Patton-Chaney and Theresa Chaney: four sisters: Mrs Ethel Carter, Mrs. Lillian Smith, Mrs. Livonia Owens and Mrs. Ivaloni Truitt, all of Newman, Georgia; one brother, Mr. Lenton Chaney of New York City, New York; five grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.
