Jennie Mae Chaney was born June 21, 1926 to the union of James and Earo Jennings in Lithonia, GA. She was educated in Newman, GA, where she met and arried Alve Lee Chane, April 7, 1945. They traveled extensively across the United States until his dischatge from the Navy.
They moved from San Franciso to Detroit in 1947. To this union four children were born: Carol, Jerome, Phyllis and Theresa. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She married in 1982 to Sylvester Shedrick. Affectinately known as "Mama", and "Aunt Mae", no one showed more love and devotion to her family and friends.
