Renvey Bryant married Henry Dees on June 4, 1868 in Thomas County, Georgia. They were the parents of John H Dees and Matthew Dees. Henry was a veteran of the Mexican War, Seminole Indian War, and the Civil War. Henry drew a pension from the Mexican War and Renvey applied for and drew a pension for Henry's service in the Civil War. According to her Widow's CW pension application Renvey stated that Henry died November 25, 1876. Census records, death certificates, and marriage records list Henry and Renvey as parents to five more children. Due to Henry's death date and Renvey's age these children could not have been their biological children. The five children are: Mary S., Sadie, Jeppie, Cleveland, and Lenora. It is safe to say that Renvey was a woman with a very loving and giving heart to have taken on the responsibility of raising five children as a single, widowed woman. Her death certificate lists her burial date as November 9, 1930 and her burial site as Old McCrabb Cemetery. Her burial site may be unmarked. (Renvey's daughter Sadie was 2nd wife of my great-grandfather, Stephen Ellison Woodham.)
