The village was saddened by the tragic death of Mrs. Evelyn Bauman Saturday morning caused when fire swept her home, The Olde Stage Coach Motel. Her husband, Paul, and daughter Holly escaped the fire without injury. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her many friends and acquaintances as she always had a ready smile for all. Funeral services were held at the Hallett Funeral Home Tuesday followed by burial in the Quivet Cemetery. She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Frank Ciliberto of Centerville and two grandchildren. Mr. Bauman and Holly are staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McDowell Hosley. In town for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Seldon Wheeler of Connecticut, William Wheeler of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith of Simsbury, Conn , and Mr. Henry Greer of New York.
