Olivia Anne Smith, infant daughter of Caleb P. and Laura L. (Weitekamp) Smith, of Groveland, passed away at 12:16 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home.
She was born Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.
Surviving are her parents of Groveland; two brothers, Elijah Smith and Jonah Smith; her grandparents, Deb & Mark Weitekamp of Pekin and Charlotte & Terry Phillips of Pekin; her uncle, Charlie (Desiree Gensel) Smith of Pekin and her aunt, Sarah (Neil Renaud) Weitekamp of Seattle, Washington.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Jack Smith.
Though Olivia’s life was short, she accomplished a great deal. She taught her family to trust in God during the most difficult of times and she showed so many others the light of Jesus. She was treasured by all. Her fierce personality was obvious and it made her a fighter as she overcame so many obstacles in her short life. Her family is now rejoicing that she is with her Heavenly Father to spend eternity in a perfect body, praising the One whom created her. We are forever thankful for the time she spent in our arms every day and every night. Olivia may have been small but her purpose was big. Mom and dad love you baby girl, rest easy.
A private service celebrating her life will be held at Harvest Bible Chapel in East Peoria. Pastor Tim Harkness and Pastor Kent Smith will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Stanford. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
