Marilyn, 85, died at Pacifica Senior Living.

She was the daughter of Milo P. and Irma K (Johnson) Shaw. On Jul 11, 1950, she married Norman L. Downing, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters: Kathy L. (Kenny) Watt, Peoria, AZ, and Kimberly A. Luchini, Lima; two sons: Steven L. (Beth), Sun City West, AZ, and John M. Downing, Lima; a brother, Tom Phalen;a sister-in-law, Anne Grady; and twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Deceased is former son-in-law, Vince Luchini.

A 1950 graduate of Lima South High School, she joined Iota Kappa chapter of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She also enjoyed her monthly luncheon club with her high school girlfriends. Other than working part time on occasion at JC Penny, she was a full-time homemaker, wife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She also loved swimming, bicycling, and camping with family and friends. Before moving to Arizona, she was a long-time member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. While living in Peoria, she would attend Christ Church of The Valley when able.

Services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Rev. Bryan Bucher officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
