OGLALA - Patricia Ann Afraid of Bear, 51, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Rapid City.
Survivors include her brothers, Irving Afraid of Bear, Fort Smith, Mont., Marvin Afraid of Bear, Oglala, and John Afraid of Bear, Pine Ridge; sisters, Katherine Afraid of Bear, Oglala, and Joan Afraid of Bear, Syracuse, N.Y.; children, Jeremy Afraid of Bear and Lynn Afraid of Bear, both of Oglala, Kyla Powers-Afraid of Bear, Syracuse, Antone Red Feather, and Xavier Long Jr., Mission Flat; three grandchildren, Angel Afraid of Bear, Micheal Two Elk and Bianca Afraid of Bear, all of Oglala; adopted daughter, Pam Watson; and aunts, Phyllis One Feather, Oglala, and Geraldine Yellow Horse, Pine Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Afraid of Bear and Josephine Afraid of Bear, and aunt, Darlene Kills Enemy.
Two-night wake service will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at the hall, with Sister Barb officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Slim Buttes.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
