Funeral services for James Darrell Frizzell, age 88, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Randy Bybee officiating.

Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday 5 PM to 8 PM and Saturday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Frizzell passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born Monday, June 16, 1930 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Raymond and Mary Vollie King Frizzell.

James was a member of Shipley Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he received a purple heart from receiving injuries during his time of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Frizzell Martin Harris, and a brother, Charles Frizzell; one sister-in-law, Betty Frizzell and three brothers-in-law, Dale Martin, GS Harris and Jim Ryan.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bean Frizzell of Cookeville; brothers, Harold Frizzell of Cookeville, and Ronnie Frizzell and wife Yvonne of Gallatin; sister, Bonnie Ryan of Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Frizzell, Joey Frizzell, Jason Frizzell, Steve Frizzell, Victor Ryan and Gary Martin.
