Elvis E. Grissom, age 92, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. He was born December 9, 1925 in Malvern to Sylvester and Cassie (Sebren) Grissom. He was a graduate of Central School. He was a U.S Army WWII Veteran of the 1296th Combat Engineer Battalion attached to the 40th Infantry Division and served in the Pacific Theatre in the Philippines as water supply Sergeant.

He owned and operated Grissom Body Shop for 35 years and after retirement worked for Teeter’s as personal assistant for 20 years. He was a Boy Scout Master of Troop 21, Malvern Band Booster for 25 years, was Chamber of Commerce President and had received the Community Service Award in 1989, a Civitan, a founder of the Frontier Funtimer, a Gideon and a member for 50 years plus in the Rockport Masonic Lodge #58.

He was raised in First Assembly of God Church and in April 1995 was led to First Baptist Church where they were very active in many aspects of the Church

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold Grissom, JJ Grissom and Junior Grissom, sister Ruth Burris, son-in-laws John Linder and Charlie Harberson and great grandsons Blake Christopher Ray and John Matthew Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha Grissom whom he married October 18, 1947, sons Ed Grissom (Kathy) of Texarkana, Texas, and Bill Grissom (Ida) of Youngsville, Louisiana, daughter Linda Scrimshire of Glen Rose, grandchildren Chance Linder (Liz), Cari Miller (Chris), Sarah Ray (Donald), Jamie Pounders (Philip), Aimee Scrimshire, JimBo Scrimshire (Mary), Jessica Grissom, Jenna Grissom, Emilee Engelhardt (Conner), Kristin Broussard (Taylor) and Erin Grissom, great grandchildren Austin Ray, Mallory Ray, Macy Ray, Makayla Miller, Christopher Miller, Jaison DeLamar, Blake Elizabeth Scrimshire, Baby Girl Pounders, Kenneth Cox, Kaydin Linder, Colt Engelhardt and Annalee Engelhardt, great great-grandchild Luke Paul Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018, from 5:00-7:00pm at Regency Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Bartlett and Aaron Sexton officiating. Burial at Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chance Linder, JimBo Scrimshire, Donald Ray, Philip Pounders, Chris Miller, Steve Williams, Shaun Sanders and Donnie Taber. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ragland, Don Richards, Jim Scrimshire, Doug Young, Mark Cramer and the Deacons of First Baptist Church
