The Honorable George Harrison Dunbar was the son of Thomas Dunbar and Ann Brownlee.

George was a prominent member of the Ontario legislature who served as MPP for Ottawa South and Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs in 1943–1955. The George Dunbar Bridge in Ottawa, Ontario, is named in his honor. It spans the Rideau River connecting Bronson Ave to the Airport Parkway. He personally opened it in 1955.
