Tommy D. Reed, 74, a long time Rushville resident, passed away June 18, 2018 in Columbus, IN. He was born May 23, 1944 in Shelbyville to Albert Thomas and Virginia Ruth (Serber) Reed.
Tommy spent his early life in Shelbyville and had resided in Rushville since 1973. He married Patricia A. Adkins on June 16, 1973 and she survives.
Tommy was a truck driver for 35 years and also worked at Detroit Steel and maintenance at Miller's Merry Manor. He was a long time member of Arlington Christian Church.
Tommy had been a member of the Rushville Optimist Club and enjoyed helping with their annual July 4th Car Show. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball, football and girls softball. He also helped organize the annual Muscular Dystrophy dances in Rushville and surrounding towns.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Rushville; a son, Dion (Lisa) Reed of New Whiteland; daughters: DeAnn (Richard) Morris of Indianapolis, Dawn Taylor and Tina (Gail) Nancy, all of Shelbyville; brother, Sammy (Marcia) Reed; and sister, Patti (Kim) Feller, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Brady, Emily and McKenna Reed, Nicholas and Caitlyn Smaglinski, Trent and Brad (Jen) Taylor and Audrianna Everhart and great granddaughter, Norah Dawn Taylor.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jini Sue Lott.
Burial in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
