Mars Hill - Calvin Hal Thomas, 72, of Mars Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2018 while at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
Calvin was born November 7, 1945 in Madison County to his late parents, Arvlee and Pansy King Thomas. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed hunting and fishing, but truly loved spending time with family and especially his grandbabies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou Norton and Norma Hayes.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Church Thomas; daughter, Vickie Revis (Doobie); son, Chris Johnson (Debbie); grandsons, Adam (Casey), Joseph, and Matthew Cole; granddaughter, Beth Johnson; step - grandchildren, Mandy and Megan Smith, Tamara Price; great grandchildren, Calvin, Codin, Addisun, Camden, Pyper, Alyssa, Charlie, Raylan, and Sawyer; siblings, Shirley Brown, Douglas Thomas (Mary Ann), Barbara Waldroup (Kenneth), Lucy Brown (Charlie), Paula Tregoning (Keith), Susie Frisbee (Stevie); special friends, Spanky and the Houser Family; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Jamerson and Brother Eddie Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to CarePartners Hospice Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
