Rachel E. Miller, 93, of Howe, IN died June 14, 2018, at Life Care Center of LaGrange, IN.
Mrs. Miller was born on July 27, 1924, in LaGrange County, IN to Clyde H. and Etta (Fair) Shultz.
Living her lifetime in LaGrange County, she was a graduate of Lima High School. She was employed at State Bank of Lima in Howe before going to work and retiring from Lima Brighton School in Howe, IN where she spent 25 years as the school secretary.
Mrs. Miller was a member and the first deaconess of the Lima Presbyterian Church in Howe, IN. She was also a member of the Priscilla Circle of the church serving as the treasurer for 48 years. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Sylvan Chapter #251 Order of the Easter Star in LaGrange, IN. She was the first woman to be elected as a member of the advisory committee of Lima Township.
On January 27, 1946, she married Dale M. Miller at the Lima Presbyterian Church in Howe, IN. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Ingrid and Tim Timmis of League City, TX and Nancy Jo Miller; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Susan Miller of Unionville, IN; five grandchildren, Heather Timmis of Houston, TX, Scott and Ellie Miller of Austin, TX, Kathryn Miller of Beachwood, OH, Tom Miller of Dallas, TX, and Michael and Melissa Moore of Berlin Heights, OH; and three great-grandchildren, Marina, Ethan and Elena Moore.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gregory Miller; and four sisters, Ruth Long, Mabel Forker, Florence Shultz, and Mary Jane Hoerl.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 10:00 am at Lima Presbyterian Church, 608 4th St., Howe, IN. Rev. Dave Hughes will officiate the service.
