Brian Eugene Cole, 63 years of age, passed away at his home on Friday, June 15, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Brian was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 26, 1954, the son of the late Harry Eugene and Dolores Jean (Takash) Cole.

He lived most of his life in Portage County, specifically Mantua Township, and was a 1972 graduate of Crestwood High School. He graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in business in 1981. Brian was employed as an auditor for the State of Ohio, retiring in 2017 after 30 years of service.

On August 21, 1976, he married his devoted wife of 41 years, Mary Anne (Terlecky) Cole who survives at their home. Also surviving is his beloved daughter, Andrea Cole of Cleveland, Ohio, and his beloved son Joshua E. (Jessica) Cole of West Palm Beach, Florida; and loving granddaughter Amelia. His dear sister Laurel (Adam Mervis) Kroack of Decatur, Illinois and brother Richard Cole also survive, as well as his aunt, Helen Prekup; uncle, Patrick (Margaret) Takash, and many cousins and good friends; and his beloved border collie, Vincent van Gogh.

Brian was an avid golfer, playing in two summer leagues, including the Tuesday night league at Sugar Bush in Garrettsville. He served as a Marshal at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational PGA tournament played at the Firestone Country Club. He also played in a volleyball league, a bowling league, and treasure hunted for golf clubs and vintage items with his wife. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mantua. Brian and his wife also enjoyed traveling, and they traveled throughout the continental United States and Europe. In recent years, Brian could be found surrounded by his family, playing golf, buying and selling golf clubs, and watching or attending Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers games. His memory will be honored by all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be Tuesday at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44 (S. of Rt. 422) Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday June 20, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd., Mantua, Ohio 44255 with Rev. Edward Stafford officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Township, Ohio.
