George Evans Abas, 65, of Rockport, IN, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born November 28, 1949 in St. Louis, MO to the late Julian Norman Abas and Lois Griffith Abas Foster. He retired from Foundation Coal in Wyoming as a plant technician after 30 years. He graduated from University of Wyoming with a Minor in Child Psychology, Major in Political Science, he was an NRA member, a federal firearms dealer and an entrepreneur. Mr. Abas enjoyed fishing, hunting, refereeing high school football, golfing and being a substitute teacher.

Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred Foster.

Surviving is his wife of twenty-six years, Doretta K. Abas; children, Kristi Burks, Tamera Reynolds, George Abas II, Cody Abas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, John Abas and a sister, Audrey Abas.

There will be no visitation or services.
