Hall of Fame Professional Golfer. He will be remembered for his capturing of the 1977 US Open title and the 1985 PGA Championship. He established his swing style during his amateur career and in 1971, he turned professional, as he received Rookie of the Year honors. He totaled 19 career PGA Tour titles and competed among such legends as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Lee Trevino. Green is regarded as one of the all time greats on chip shots. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2007. He died from cancer.
