She retired from the child care department at University Hospital. She was a very dedicated member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Miss Patricia enjoyed music, dancing and cooking. More than anything else, she enjoyed spending time with her grands.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children and their spouses, Carl and Angela Tanton, San Antonio, TX, Juan and Walt Bagwell, Aiken, SC, Laron Tanton, Gloverville, SC and Darrin and Janie Tanton, Windsor, SC; step-son, Jimmie Cross, Augusta, GA; siblings and their spouses, Harry and Dale Barton, Gloverville, SC, Iva and Emmett Sheppard, Aiken, SC, Donald and Vonice Barton, Bath, SC, Tommy and Linda Barton, Graniteville, SC and the late Douglas Barton, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Garnette "Sandy" Tanton, Jr. and her grandson, Pfc. Nicholas Tanton.
The family will greet friends on Monday, June 18, 2018, beginning at 1 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel. Pastor Richard Nevard will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. It has been requested that memorials be made to the Parkinson's Foundation; www.parkinson.org.
