Donna Carlene Long, age 90, of Cole Camp, died Monday, June 18, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, where the family receiving friends beginning at 6:30 and a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memorial Cemetery in Cole Camp.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Missouri Cattleman’s Association, in care of the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Creager, of Lee’s Summit, and Joyce Malone and her husband, Sam, of San Antonio, Texas; her son, Jimmie Long and his wife, Linda, of Cole Camp; five grandchildren, Mia Westfall, Julie Malone, Lisa (Dr. Daniel) DeArmond, Jack Long and Jarrett Long; and eight great-grandchildren, Mallory, Adeleine, Elise, and Noelle DeArmond, Cheyenne and Sef Alvarado and Brandon and Alex (Julie) Westfall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Georgie Chance; her husband, James Long Sr.; her brother, William F. Chance; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia DeArmond.

Donna Carlene Long, 90, of Cole Camp, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at her daughter's home in San Antonio. She was born on June 8, 1928, in Warsaw, Missouri, a daughter of Carl and Georgie (McGranahan) Chance.

She grew up and attended school in Warsaw. On November 8, 1946, in Clinton, she was united in marriage to James Edwin Long, Sr. This union was blessed with the gift of three children: Jimmie, Marilyn, and Joyce.

She was devoted to her family and had a quirky sense of humor. When her children were growing up, she taught Sunday school at Harmony Baptist Church near Windsor, was a member of the Harmony Homemakers, and was a 4H leader. She also worked with her husband at Long's Cattle Equipment as a bookkeeper and volunteered at the election polls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading, especially mysteries.

She is survived by: her daughters, Marilyn Creager of Lee's Summit and Joyce Malone and her husband Sam of San Antonio, Texas; her son, Jimmie Long and his wife Linda of Cole Camp; five grandchildren, Mia Westfall, Julie Malone, Lisa (Dr. Daniel) DeArmond, Jack Long, and Jarrett Long; and eight great-grandchildren, Mallory, Adeleine, Elise, and Noelle DeArmond, Cheyenne and Sef Alvarado, and Brandon and Alex (Julie) Westfall.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the church with the family receiving friends beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jack Long, Jarrett Long, Jeremy Anstine, Jared Anstine, Ryan Schlesselman, Randy Schlesselman, and Jimmie Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Malone, Rick Anstine, Gary Schnakenberg, Rodney Flower, Russ Fosnow, George Cook, Kenny Chance, Glenn Chance, and Bob Chance.
