Russell "Rusty" Hale passed away after losing a short but brutal battle with pancreatic cancer.

He leaves behind his fiancé, Irina; three daughters Robin (David), Christine (Evan), and Chelsea (Jake); three grandchildren, Randi, Taylor, and Lane; sister, Debby; father, Tommy (Jerilyn); and his cherished Pomeranian, Grace.

Rusty joined his mother, grandparents, and friends in a happy reunion just on the other side of the moon on June 16th, three days after his 58th birthday. Born in Denison, Texas, Rusty was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, living most of his life in Hampton Roads. He graduated from Peninsula Catholic H.S. in 1978, NNS Apprentice School in 1982, and Christopher Newport University in 1989.

He worked at Craft Machine Shop in Newport News for the last 11 years.

He leaves behind a lot of broken hearts filled with wonderful memories.

A Memorial service celebrating Rusty's life will be held Wednesday, June 20, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson, led by Pastor James N. Earley II.

Claytor Rollins Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

"We will miss his smile, wit and humor. Godspeed Rusty!"
