Born March 16, 1932 at home in Davis, IL the daughter of Frederick and Fern (Ashenfelter) Tielkemeier. A longtime resident to Pecatonica, IL, she attended schools there graduating from Pecatonica High School in 1950. Graduating from the Rockford School of Business in 1951.
She began her working career with Blacks College until they closed and then went to work for the Barber Colman Company, retiring after 27 years. She was member of the First Congregational Church, where she was active in various roles. She was a member of the Lions Club, Pecatonica Historical Society, former member of the Sinnissippi 49ners Golf League and the Busy Bag Ladies – Quilts for Homeless.
She enjoyed travel that took her to Europe, Islands in the Caribbean, Canada, many parts of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. She also enjoyed her time spent at her family cabin near Grand Marais, MN.
Survivors include her niece Leanne (Gregg) Ebens, her nephew Matt (Patty) Tielkemeier, her niece Kristine (Joseph) Pottratz, nine great nieces and nephews, 1 great great niece, 2 great great nephews and her sister in law Karen Tielkemeier. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Marsden Tielkemeier.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm Monday June 18, 2018 in the First Congregational Church 633 Reed St. Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Duane Hoffman officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded, with Final Resting place to be Pecatonica Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the Church from 1:00 pm until time of Ceremony Monday.
