Melvina P. Broadhead
SALT LAKE CITY--Melvina Peters Broadhead, 84, died at her home here Thursday morning following a year's illness. She was born May 9. 1863, at Perry, Box Elder county, a daughter of Henry E. and Elizabeth Zabriskie Perry. She was educated in Box Elder county and was married to Peter H. Peters, in November, 1882 in the L. D. S. Salt Lake endowment house. They continued to make their home in Perry where her husband was a school teacher. He died in 1893. In 1911 [correct date of marriage: January 26, 1910] she was married to David [Betts] Broadhead in the L. D. S. Salt Lake temple, and they made their home in Nephi. After his death in 1930, she returned to Salt Lake City and did genealogy work in the temple. She was an active worker in the Nineteen Ward in Salt Lake City. She is survived by a daughter, Laura P. Fifield, Salt Lake City; two sisters: Mrs. Eunice Thorn, Brigham City, and Mrs. Rose May, Delta. Services will be held Saturday noon in the Nineteenth ward chapel in Salt Lake City, Utah, with Bishop Golden Stuckie officiating. Friends may call at the Joseph William Taylor mortuary in Salt Lake City this evening and Saturday until time of service.
