On Saturday, June 9, 2018, Arthur Henry James was called to heaven after a brief illness.

Art was born March 24, 1946 to William and Betty (Donaldson) James. He graduated from Butte High School in 1965. Over the years he worked at Warm Springs and the Montana State Prison but the job that he most enjoyed was dressing as Santa Clause during Christmastime.

Art is survived by his wife and best friend of 48 years, Katherine Fitzpatrick; his five children and their families, son, John (Missy) and their daughters, Tresa and Kylee, daughter, Betty, daughter, Tara (Bill) Sweet and their children, Spenser, Claire, Elliot and Elyse, son, Artie and daughter, Mary; his brothers, Glen and Bob; his in-laws, Mary Lou Fitzpatrick, Dick (Danette) Fitzpatrick, Pat (Jan) Fitzpatrick, Fran Haavisto, Rose Fitzpatrick, Suzie (Mike) Hall, Bob Fitzpatrick, Liz Fitzpatrick, Colleen Fitzpatrick, Joan (Ed) O'Neill and Bill (Barb) Fitzpatrick and their families; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom he adored. He is also survived by close friends, Ken and Gayla Sanders and Van and Robin Haugen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jerry and Allen.

Art will always be remembered for his kind and generous spirit. He was undoubtedly one of the most genuine people one could ever meet. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He loved bowling at the Winter Garden Lanes, watching wrestling with his brothers, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed!

Memorials in his name may be made to Shop with a Cop, c/o Butte Police Station, 225 N. Alaska, Bagdad Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, 314 W. Park St., or Big Brothers Big Sisters, 65 E. Broadway St.

Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church, 1500 Majors
