Mr. Lewis "Bill" Dean Anderson, Jr., resident of Dexter, Missouri, formerly of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 15, 2018, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 73. He was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on Thursday, June 14, 1945.Mr. Lewis Dean “Bill” Anderson, Jr., resident of Dexter, Missouri, formerly of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Florida Hospital Orlando in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 73. He was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on Thursday, June 14, 1945, the son of Mr. Lewis Dean Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Lawrencetta (Ables) Anderson.
Bill and Miss Paula Jean Diebold were united in marriage on August 12, 1965. Mr. Bill worked for the railroad, airlines, and as a heavy equipment operator. In 1981, Bill found his calling working in the calibration industry, and in 2007 Anderson Calibration was incorporated. He was a member of AWRF (Associated Wire Rope Fabricators), and authored several articles for them, some of which were featured in Time Magazine.
Mr. Anderson was proud of his work, but no matter where his career took him across the country, he was always more than ready to travel home to see his beloved wife and family. Bill enjoyed fishing and tinkering, and was of the Baptist faith.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Morgan Preslee Anderson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Paula Anderson, of the home; two sons: Lewis D. “Andy” Anderson, and his wife, Brandi, of Caraway, Arkansas; and Lloyd Eric Anderson, Dexter, Missouri; three daughters: Elise Staggs, of the home; LaDeana Quesnel, and her husband, Lawrence, of Bartlett, Tennessee; and Amy McClain, of Dexter, Missouri; two sisters: Diana Anderson-McCarthy, and her husband, Jack; and Nancy Anderson-Golden; twelve grandchildren: Amanda Jo, Noah, Lawson W., Logan W., Alexis, Ashley, Ashton, Madison, Gavin, Nash, Samantha, and Tabitha; eleven great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Jacob, Zoey, Jase, Jude, Bryleen, Nova, Ember, AnnaBelle, Bently, and Coleston; several nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, in Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas with Brother Rick Stevens and Mr. A. Vince Gredone III officiating under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. A reception for family and friends followed at Hickory Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Lawson Wade Quesnel, Logan William Quesnel, Gavin Spencer Anderson, Jonathan Cain Weaver, Lee Reams, and Lawrence Quesnel. Honorary pallbearers were Shorty Griggs, John Hinkle, Keith Churchill, Jeff McClain, and Jonathan Becking.
Donations may be made in Bill’s honor to Shriners Hospitals.
