Rachel Elizabeth Smith, age 87, of Monticello, Arkansas died Saturday, February 25, 1967 at the Drew County Hospital.

She was born January 2, 1880 at Mountain Grove, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Thomas and Susana Elizabeth (Fisher) Beesley.

She was a baptist.

She and James William Smith, were married December 22, 1901 at Douglas, Missouri. They were the parents of 11 children. He died in 1937.

Survivors include seven sons, Delbert Blane Smith, Homer Russell Smith, Earl Harland Smith, Orval Edgbert Smith, Otis Odell Smith, William Smith and Joseph Woodfred Smith; three daughters, Velma A. Dye, Delphia R. Brown and Roena Evans; two brothers, Austin Beesley and Everett Beesley; a sister, Meda Fields; 26 grandchildren; and 66 great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service is at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 1967 at the Second Baptist Church.

Burial is in Centerpoint Cemetery at Collins, Drew County, Arkansas.
