Russell was proud to be a combat veteran serving with the U.S. Army 30th Infantry Division during World War II. Russell was a recipient of the Purple Heart and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. For 30 years, Russell was employed as a mail carrier at the Warrington Post Office. In his free time, Russell enjoyed music, especially Blue Grass, and enjoyed traveling to music festivals.
In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by his son, Russell D. Fox, and daughter, Lisa K. Fox. He is also survived by his brother, W. Donald Fox, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Cynthia Wieland.
Russell’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Chapel at Beulah Cemetery, 238 Almshouse Road, New Britain, where the family will receive friends after 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow.
