Mrs. Beatrice Lucille Tate 75, of Roland Hayes Parkway, Calhoun died Friday (Sept 6, 1996) at Gordon Hospital following a year of illness.
She was born on March 28, 1921, in Gordon County, daughter of the late John and Myrtle Shipman Talley. She retired from Venture Carpets and a Member of Victory Temple Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Tate.
Survivors include a daughter Carolyn Sutherland of Calhoun, a son Hugh Don (Wanda) Tate of Calhoun; grandchildren, Debbie and Kim Bailey, Deidria Titus, Dawn Pierce and Mitzi Floyd; four sisters, Johnnie Long of Resaca, Wilma Hawkins of Dalton and Maggie Fosler and Francis Hamrick, both of Atlanta; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral were held Sunday, Sept 8, 1996 at Victory Temple Church of God, With Revs. Jeff Dutton and Junior Clayton. Singing was arranged by the Jones Family and Marion Clayton.
Pallbearers were Jack Long, the Rev Gary Tate, Marvin Tate, David Albright, Wilburn Tate, Donald Tate, Billy O'Harrad and Richard Tate. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Edwards, Larry Barnette, Lester Harrison, Winston Black and Greg Barnette.
Interment is in Oostanaula Baptist Church Cemetery.
