Ed was born December 10, 1946 to Edward E. and Hazel (Inman) Beck.
He was a 1964 graduate of Fulton High School, shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Navy, serving aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt as an airman during Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Dorene (Brown) O'Flaherty on August 1, 1982. He and Dorene were members of Willard First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Gideons and the Masonic Lodge. Ed loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include wife Dorene Beck; daughter, Kimberly Gomez and husband Daniel; 2 grandsons, Andrew Gomez and wife Patricia, and Britton Gomez and wife Andrea; 2 great grandchildren, Keegan and Sydney Gomez; step-daughter, Colleen Smith and husband Randy, their children Aaron and Kelsey; additionally 6 step grandchildren and 5 spouses; 14 step-great grandchilldren; brother William Beck and wife Ruth; sister Linda Sue Beltz and husband Ronald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hazel Beck; son, Jason Edward Beck; and brother, Donnie Dean Beck.
Burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
