He was born on July 6, 1935 in Rochester, PA., a son of the late Oakland and Cecilia Chleba Valentine.
Bob started his career working as a diesel mechanic in Youngstown before owning and operating Valentine’s Service Stations in Leetonia and then later working at the Recreation Center in Salem.
He was an avid Cleveland sports fan who loved cooking and entertaining his family and friends.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Leetonia American Legion, Washingtonville VFW, Salem AM Vets and the Leetonia Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marge” McNiven Valentine, whom he married on January 21, 1961; two sons, Rick Valentine of Leetonia and Daniel (Jennifer) Valentine of Leetonia; a sister, Catherine Hirst of Poland; six grandchildren, Danielle (Elmer) Brown, Malorie, Aaron, Kelsie, Cody and Corey Valentine, and twin great grandsons, Dylan and Kyle Brown.
Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert Valentine.
Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery in Leetonia where military honors will be accorded by the Salem Honor Guard.
