Jerry Randell Bodovsky of Sherman, Texas, passed away on June 15, 2018, at the age of 77 at TMC Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1940, to Gene and Ruby (Ragsdale) Bodovsky of Tioga, Texas.

Jerry spent his youth on the family farm, but farming was not in his plans. He was gifted in electronics and drafting. After graduating from Tioga High School he went to work at Hardwicke-Etter in Sherman, and from there he entered the electronics field working for Collins Radio in Richardson and Addison Instruments in Addison. After a while Jerry knew he had the contacts, knowledge and business support he needed to go into business for himself. Mortgaging his inherited farm, he opened Aero Systems, Inc. Aero Systems became a successful business venture from which he retired. His customers loved the business approach that Jerry had of quality service and personal attention not only to their equipment, but also to them as individuals. Jerry Bodovsky truly cared for their well-being and no one could compare to his generosity when it came to helping others.

Jerry loved to fly and held a private pilot’s license for several decades. He also liked to shoot firearms, winning several trophies over the years. One of his favorite passions was his automobiles. Every car or truck he ever owned was always kept immaculate, including the two Corvettes he owns now. Jerry was also a problem solver. He would see a problem and before long he had a solution. Some of his inventions are still in use by the military today.

Jerry was no stranger to the problems we face on this earth. His first wife Reba (Ward) preceded him is death along with their two sons, Jerry Jr. and Jason. Jerry then married Inge (Schoerr) who also preceded him in death. But, he wasn’t ready to give up and obtained his current family when he married Judy Norman on June 8, 1985. Judy had 3 children, Sherry, Charles Jr. and Monica. They immediately became his children also. Judy passed away in early 2017. He and Judy took many cruises and vacations throughout their marriage and both loved antiques. Their dreams came true when they purchased their historical home on Crockett Street in Sherman.

Jerry is survived by his children Sherry Colleen Norman, Charles Norman, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Monica Caldwell and her husband Tim. Grandkids are Valerie, Melanie and Charlie Norman along with Jessica Beciri and husband Shek and one great-grandchild Bekim Beciri. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly including his sister Arvella McKnight.

The most important milestone in Jerry’s life was when he accepted Christ and was baptized on August 27, 1950, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Tioga, Texas. Records show his Father, Gene Bodovsky and uncle, Raymond Bodovsky were also baptized that same day. It was a great day for the Bodovsky family.

Bob McKnight and Daniel Tanguma will conduct the service and the funeral is under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, June 18. The funeral will be at his home church, Mount Carmel Baptist Church, on Tuesday, June 19, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Tioga Cemetery.
